Dear Sufipath. After Edirne you leave the town through a busy road. But pleave, can you provide a less sumiere description of this part of the route. Once I was out of town, I immediately searched for a silent offroad-path.

Beware, many maps are wrong altogether. The beautiful quiet countrypaths that would bring me to Istanbul seems to be untraceable traces. As a result, I walk miles through a sloping southern English style landscape. Hill after hill follows near Muratli.

My tip: In Istanbul, on the Istiklal Cad is a store that sells the 1:500 000 maps of Ryborsch. Available at the beginning of the shopping street, next to a large shop that sold musical instruments. Most cards in stock, and what not they have ordered within a week.

Leave Edirne on the Kiyik Cd. on the east side of town. Shortly after this road changed in the Lalapasa Yolu Highway, there is a right turn and you go under the Avrupa Otoyolu and are in the green and can walk through Musabeyli and Demirhanli to Kırklareli.

If you are lucky you find some gypsies under the Avrupa Otoyolu that sell mellon for bottemprice and are very nice and friendly people.

Those gypsies camp in the wood not far from the great oilwrestling arena at the edge of town.

In the weeks before the annual national championship end June, they are moved away by the autorities to this spot under the boardwalk of this international highway.

As there are some good musicians among them, they are popular by the people from Edirne.

It can be quite a wild party there at night!

Well worth to check it out if you are up to something different from the official ones organized by the city of Edirne.

I found the musicians one time playing at the Balta hotel, on the way to the Edirne busterminal and had to stay the night as I missed my connection to Istanbul.
